The Name of the Rose, Umberto Eco. Very nice.

A rose by any other name . . . would be less confusing if its title weren't written in Italian. :-P

No matter the language, it's a beautiful photo :)

Ansel,

How could I resist? It's not every day a girl gets to throw out an Eco reference.

The Fiancé,

It’s not every day a girl gets to use Italian either ;)

Paisano,

Mille grazie :) I'm hoping to utilize other languages as well.

Yep, this is nice. Such a "clean", simple yellow rose!

Ziggy,

I was rejoicing that The Fiancé had gotten me such a beautiful bouquet of roses that was quite photogenic.

Kate,

Thanks for the compliment. I was lucky to find a rose with such beautiful coloring.

Heidi,

Sometimes I wonder if before buying flowers, the The Fiancé asks himself "would Lady want to photograph these?"

Wow, the color and detail are amazing. Great shot!

Rock,

True, though taking pictures of roses is much more fun. Plus, they smell better, too.

Chantal,

I got lucky with the lighting. I took the photo around sunset and used natural light only.

Dating Dummy,

Maybe not the best, but definitely one of my favorites.

Payam, Sidney, and Eden,

Thank you. I’m very flattered by your comments :)

Michelle,

Now that you mention it, this picture is making my mouth water. I may need to drop by the bakery later to pick up a slice of cake. In the meanwhile, I posted a pic of someone who’d be happy to eat that flower.

Yungyaw,

Making greeting cards out of photos is always fun to do. It adds a personal touch to special occasions.

Alexandra,

Merci. I’ll be sure to visit your site, too.

It is cold in the scriptorium, my thumb aches. I leave this manuscript, I do not know for whom; I no longer know what it is about: stat rosa pristina nomine, nomina nuda tenemus.

An excellent picture!

I could not believe that this was taken with only a point-and-shoot Camera, specifically with a Canon Powershot A75. Excuse my curiousity, as I viewed the EXIF thinking you might have good pots and pans. Oooops! Excellent equipment, I mean!

This goes to show that you do not need expensive equipment to take good pictures, akin to a good chef being able to prepare an excellent feast from very minimal equipment and ingredients. You really do not need good pots and pans to prepare a good meal. Your skill as a good chef shows.

I will keep an eye on whatever you will post next. Thank you for sharing.

Anna,

Thank you :) I’m flattered that so many people like this photo. It really boosts a girl’s confidence when she hears so many wonderful things about her work.

Steve,

I loved your show when I was younger! I’m honored to be graced with the presence of a television star. I see your extensive knowledge extends to photography, too. You make a very good point. Just because you buy an Ansel Adams camera doesn’t mean you’ll end up with Ansel Adams prints. Some of the best photos I’ve ever taken were with a simple point and shoot. I’m hoping my skills as a "chef" improve as time goes on.

L`Artiste,

As a budding photographer, I’m flattered someone thinks my work is worthy of hanging in their home. I’m hoping to start selling some prints soon and will be sure to let you know once the idea firms up a bit more.

Emma,

Thank you :) The flower had beautiful coloring. I’m only the photographer who was lucky enough to capture it.
