I kind of cheated, though I prefer to think of it as being "well prepared". Lots of little ones tend to leave prints on the glass. I got into the habit of wiping down a small area of the tank with a damp paper towel before shooting. No more smudgy shots for me!
I think he was wondering why some crazy lady kept flashing bright lights at him. He was actually quite a character. I’ll post a pic of his diva-like display this weekend.

Marius,
Thanks :) I was lucky that the sea lion was enamored with my flash. It allowed for me to take several photos while he was checking it out.

Modigli,
I'm just glad he made it back home safely . . . and that I had my camera to keep me company while he was gone :)

How sweet... Your underwater shots are excellent! Are this taken from underwater or from an aquarium?
Alicia,
These are from The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California.
