What does a cooped up photographer do when she’s trapped inside because of the rain? Knit some winter scarves!

ooohhh - beautiful color, texture and subject. I'd never think of taking pictures of sweater bits.

How cool - yarn and finished product! It looks like you're an accomplished knitter, or certainly to somebody who is all thumbs. Both make delightful patterns.

Geee! Time flies! It is the first day of Fall already?

Thank you. Your post is a nice reminder that Autumn is upon us :)

Very nice detail and presentation!

I'm lovin' it (or as the ad goes). It's kind of a "before and after" picture, right?

Awesome before and after picture. Judging by the quality of your knit and the perfect pattern, you've done this before :)

Nice textures. What are you knitting? I have tried knitting before when I was kid. I don't know how people do it. It took me a few days to knit a scarf for my stuffed animal.

I call dibs on a scarf!

Ian,

I’m a bit trigger happy when it comes to photography. I’ll take pictures of anything and everything :)

Brian,

Things always take on a more interesting view when looked at from a different perspective. I’m glad the patterns turned out well :)

Chantal,

Here’s hoping the finished product looks as good as its beginning!

Dylan,

I’m a big fan of homemade gifts. Knitting is a great way to relax between exams.

OutdoorExposure and Jamie,

The color of the skein of yarn and scarf were practically screaming “take some pictures!” I’m glad I decided to listen :)

Rock,

It took a while before I learned how to make anything halfway decent. Knitting is a lot tougher than it looks, but is also very addicting. Once I learned how to make things, I had the best dressed stuffed animals on the block :)

WalthamKid,

It’s hard to believe that summer is no longer here. Around here it went from 85 degree days to thunder and lightening overnight. I’m hoping for a few more days of sunshine before the year ends.

Chris,

“Before and after” indeed. The photos didn’t seem complete when displayed alone.

David,

Only a few hundred times or so :)

Alicia,

I thought I’d make scarves and hats as Christmas presents this year. It really takes a while to get into a rhythm with the needles and yarn, but once you’re in the groove, you just fly.

L’Artiste,

If you’ll be back in Orange County for the holidays, I’d be happy to make one for you :) Do you have any colors you prefer?

Dating Dummy,

Who knew you could knit?!
Who knew you could knit?!
Who knew you could knit?!
Who knew you could knit?!
Who knew you could knit?!

Okay, so I cheated and used the copy and paste functions.

You’d be surprised. There are a lot of things your wonderful and talented little sister can do :)

Hi Lady,

Thanks for your comment on my blog - your shots are fantastic. The butterfly posts are amazing, I'm envious of your steady hand and fantastic powerful camera!

I love this showing the details of the wool - unfortunately my camera isn't really up to such close macro texture shots! I'll keep you bookmarked.

Michelle,

It seemed appropriate to start knitting some scarves since it was raining that day.

Traveling Punk,

Thanks for stopping by :). These shots were taken with a Rebel XT. What camera are you using?

ChickyBabe and Brandon,

Blue seemed a good choice for a scarf since it goes with so many other colors.

Ariela,

I’m a fan of the second one, too. The first shot was added as an afterthought to create a "before and after" type post.

Alexandra,

I’m not so sure my knitting skills are up to Aran level just yet :)

Ed, Joe, and Derrick,

Thanks :) It gave me a chance to test out a lens I was thinking of buying.

Mike,

I started knitting the scarf in the second shot because it was pouring outside and I couldn’t shoot. I’m a shutterbug at heart, but a knitting fiend when the weather keeps me indoors.

Emma,

I had the rainy day blues because I was trapped inside, but the blue of the scarf picked me up a bit :)

i love the contrast between the two patterns, it wouldn't have had the same effect if you'd posted them separately.

Very pretty. I like the textures. The first one actually reminds me of doll's hair.

BTW, I'm ready for a new post! What will the Lady post next? I can hardly wait to see. :)

Anna,

I’m hoping the recipient of this gift loves the color, too :)

Payam,

I’m glad the pairing of the photos worked well.

Momo,

Now that you mention it, it brings back memories of my Cabbage Patch dolls from the early 80s.

School has been keeping me so busy that I’ve been unable to post as often as I’d like. Thanks for keeping me up to speed :)
